Santa Maria Community Services (SMCS) is a more than 120-year-old community-based agency in Price Hill, serving over 2,500 community members annually through programs in education, income, and health with a focus on immigrant and economically disadvantaged families. Its Youth Development Program, known as Building Youth Assets, supports students at Oyler School through social and emotional learning cohorts, suicide prevention programming, and afterschool and summer education reaching roughly 360 students. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support Santa Maria's Youth Development Program.
