Capital Roots

In 2015, Capital District Community Gardens moved to new headquarters and changed their name to Capital Roots to represent the full breadth of their work assisting underserved, low-income, minority and senior populations in the Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Counties (the Capital District) in upstate New York. The mission of the organization is to improve neighborhoods and the lives of the residents that live within them by improving their health and well-being through increased access to healthy, fresh vegetables as well as self-sufficiency among residents by helping them to sell the food that they grow. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support The Produce Project: Holistic Life and Job Training .
