ArtWorks is a youth employment and workforce development program. It provides job training and employment for a diverse group of at least 150 youth (ages 14-21) each year. AAC’s programs have been successful in enlarging the world for their adopted classrooms, yet teachers are asking for more STEAM projects. It was hailed as the "Art Palace of the West" when it opened in 1886. The collection today numbers 60,000 works of art and is the largest art collection in Ohio. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the School-Based Learning initiative.
Equinox, Inc., a not-for-profit social services agency in Albany, New York, was founded in 1969 by volunteers to provide assistance to young people in crisis who had become alienated from family, community and traditional social services. Equinox provides a bridge to resources in the community to meet new and emerging needs of youth. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the Youth Outreach Services.
Throughout its 128 years Holly Hill Children's Services has been a stabilizing force in the lives of children. Although much has changed over the past 12 decades, Holly Hill continues to meet the social challenges of the community and has evolved into an on-site treatment center with a total of seven programs annually servicing over 1430 children and families from two locations. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the Pediatric Audiology Equipment .

In 2007, the Junior League of Cincinnati (JLC) launched MindPeace as its own non-profit because no other mental health organization focused on systemic improvements to children's mental health access and quality. As a result of the unique role of MindPeace in the community, the collaborative network of mental health providers and other stakeholders advocated for the continuation of MindPeace when the Junior League sponsorship expired. Ohio Valley Voices formed in 1999 by parents who knew that an oral education could give their deaf children opportunities that would not be available to them otherwise. In 2000, Ohio Valley Voices opened its doors to 12 students. Currently in their eleventh year, enrollment has more than tripled in size. Prevent Blindness is the nation's leading voluntary eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness (PBO) has been serving all 88 Ohio counties since 1957, providing direct services to more than 800,000 Ohioans annually and educating millions of consumers about what they can do to protect and preserve their precious gift of sight. The Southwest Ohio Chapter of Prevent Blindness is headquartered in Cincinnati and serves Hamilton, Brown, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is a dynamic ensemble of world-class musicians, conductors and guest artists. Founded in 1895, the CSO proudly serves the Greater Cincinnati community as the fifth oldest orchestra in the United States and the first orchestra in the state of Ohio. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support its seasons spanning from 2019 to 2024.
On October 9, 1978, a small group of parents and physicians met to discuss a pressing need "“ a nearby, low-cost "home away from home" for parents and other family members of seriously ill children being treated at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. A much-needed 20-bedroom home opened in 1982. Since then, the House has grown to 78 bedrooms. A gift from Pfau Foundation will support the More Rooms, More Love, Campaign.
Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled Inc. (LADD) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization that was founded in 1975 by several parents who had children with developmental disabilities. Since LADD opened its doors, hundreds of individuals have benefited from the comprehensive education programs. Both current and former participants in LADD programs are living in a variety of residential situations throughout the Greater Cincinnati community. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the Forever, Home initiative.
Comprehensive Community Child Care (4C) was founded in 1972 by a coalition of agencies and funders with the purpose of coordinating, planning and advocating for quality child care for working families. Early work included planning studies, training and technical assistance. 4C has built its services to families along with concentration on improving the quality of early learning and care for all children. Big Brothers/Big Sisters Association (BBBS) of Cincinnati promotes the development of youth through quality mentoring relationships. Since 1992, Breakthrough Cincinnati (BTC) has been successful at paving the path to four year colleges/universities for underserved and underrepresented students, increasing the quality, quantity, and diversity of prospective teachers, and developing career educators as instructional leaders. BTC provides academic enrichment to high potential middle school students from underresourced communities, including South Avondale, Evanston, OvertheRhine, Madisonville, and Bond Hill. Easter Seals TriState (ESTS) serves people with disabilities, at-risk youth preparing to transition from school to the workplace and adults moving from "welfare to work." The organization is a member of the National Easter Seals, Inc. ESTS is a certified Medicaid provider and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Development of St. Aloysius began in 1832 by Father John Martin Henni and was officially established in 1837 to aid the children left homeless as a result of a cholera epidemic. Today, they are an independent,non-denominational social service agency assisting children displaying cognitive, behavioral, and emotional health problems. American Diabetes Association-SW Ohio and Kentucky Chapter (ADA of SWOH/KY) is
a regional office of the national American Diabetes Association (ADA). The National
ADA is the country’s leading nonprofit providing funding toward research through their fundraising efforts, public awareness and education and advocacy on behalf of the
disease. Locally, the regional ADA office aligns with the work of the national office by
offering similar services within the community. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support Camp Korelitz.
In 1980, during his tenure as Archbishop of Cincinnati, Cardinal Joseph Bernardin created the Catholic Inner-city Schools Education Fund (CISE) to help combat poverty in Cincinnati's inner city neighborhoods. Today there are nearly 1,400 students receiving a quality education in the eight CISE elementary schools. In addition, there are over 200 CISE school graduates attending Catholic high schools with the help of the CISE High School Grant Program. The Cincinnati Youth Collaborative (CYC) has served local youth for over 30 years. On an annual basis, their programs reach over 1,900 youth ages 719 who are having difficulty performing in school due to a range of risk factors: homelessness, pregnancy, incarcerated parents(s), etc. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the CYC Mentoring Expansion Initiative.

For over 140 years, St. Joseph Home has served the fragile and vulnerable among us. Initially, their focus was on unwed pregnant mothers and their infants. More recently though, St. Joseph Home completely shifted their resources toward profoundly mentally and physically disabled individuals and their families. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park was founded in 1959 by a young college student who married his dream of a professional theatre with the commitment of several of the city's prominent leaders. Grounded in its history as an orphanage, St. Joseph Orphanage (SJO) has remained vital and responsive to the needs of the community for over 189 years. The agency provides critically needed mental health services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community including children, youth, and their families. Each year SJO partners with hospitals, schools in low-income communities, local county mental health boards, and county children service agencies. A gift from Pfau Foundation will support the SJO Residential Emergency Placement Program (REPP).
Children's Center of the Cumberlands provides the services of a child advocacy center (coordinated investigation of child abuse and follow-up care to promote healing) and mental health and support services for at-risk youth and their families. As a child advocacy center, CCC offers a single child-friendly environment for these services: (1) therapeutic interventions, parenting classes, and mentoring; (2) medical evaluations and expert testimony; (3) forensic interviews and victim advocacy; (4) alcohol and drug programs; and (5) prevention education. La Soupe is a new and rising non-profit seeking to fulfill a dual purpose in the local food system – rescue useable produce from landfills and feed hungry families. Based east of Cincinnati proper, La Soupe works with partners in both Hamilton and Clermont counties. While there are many non-profits endeavoring to feed hungry families, no other is doing so by rescuing produce and turning it into healthy meals for those in need. Groundwork Cincinnati - Mill Creek’s (GWC) mission is derived from engagement with the communities that it has served in the Mill Creek Watershed for the last 24 years. These traditionally marginalized communities have a strong environmental injustice component that is often overlooked. GWC’s strategy guides community development and environmental initiatives that impact quality-of-life for Mill Creek residents. GWC is one of 20 Groundwork Trusts in the United States, affiliated with Groundwork USA and with two federal partners, the National Park Service and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Strategies to End Homelessness (STEH) (formerly Cincinnati-Hamilton County Continuum of Care for the Homeless) was established in 2007 in response to federal regulations requiring separate nonprofit organization to be formed to receive and coordinate emergency, transitional and permanent supportive housing services. Today, STEH serves as the intermediary organization locally, ensuring that there is a coordinated system of care for the homeless in Cincinnati and Hamilton County. A gift from Pfau Foundation will support general operations.
