Linden Grove School is a state-accredited, non-public school that offers a specialized learning environment for special needs children who struggle in a more traditional school setting. Linden Grove serves children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Their unique school environment integrates academics, social skills, and therapies for children with an autism spectrum disorder, attention deficits, learning disabilities, and communication and sensory disorders. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the "Bring IT" Project.
May-We-Help was founded in 2009 and its' first employee was hired in 2010. They ended 2011 with 34 active volunteers and 36 completed assistance device projects. The organization currently has a 6-member board of directors that are overseeing the expansion and impact of the original mission statement, which is — "A nonprofit of skilled volunteers gathered together to create custom assistance devices and adaptations for individuals with disabilities at no cost to them." A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support material costs for devices requested by their clients.

Opened in 1999, PLAN of Southwest Ohio is part of larger affiliated network of PLAN organizations across the country (National PLAN Alliance), and was started in the southwest Ohio area by concerned parents who wondered who would care for their sons and daughters with disabilities when they no longer could. Starfire Council of Greater Cincinnati evolved from Camp Fire Boys and Girls. In 1986, the Council's Board redirected its resources toward individuals with special needs. As a result, Starfire was established as a nonprofit corporation in 1993. The Cincinnati Recreation Foundation was established in February 1996 to aid and improve the quality of life for all Cincinnati citizens. The CincySmiles Foundation was established in 1909 when a small group of dentists had observed that children from low income families in Cincinnati had a high level of untreated dental disease. In 1910, they developed a small dental treatment program in a local school. Today, CincySmiles continues to pursue the vision that every resident of our community enjoy optimal oral health and all the associated advantages, and that there be no disparities in oral health status, or access to care. The Civic Garden Center was officially opened in November of 1942 and from its inception offered classes and solutions to gardening problems to anyone in the Tri-state area who wanted to learn about and promote horticulture. Comprehensive Community Child Care (4C) was founded in 1972 by a coalition of agencies and funders with the purpose of coordinating, planning and advocating for quality child care for working families. Literacy Center West was founded in 1988 in the basement of the Church of the Nativity in East Price Hill. Then called the Nativity Literacy Center, our mission was to teach basic literacy skills to adults. It soon became apparent that the needs of the community were much greater. In response, we initiated focused programs in the areas of GED preparation and job readiness training for disadvantaged young people. The Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati is a coordinating body for more than 60 literacy programs throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The Lower Price Hill Community School was founded in 1971 by neighborhood parents and grandparents tired of seeing their children drop out of the formal public school system. Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled Inc. (LADD) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization that was founded in 1975 by several parents who had children with developmental disabilities. Since LADD opened its doors, hundreds of individuals have benefited from the comprehensive education programs. Both current and former participants in LADD programs are living in a variety of residential situations throughout the Greater Cincinnati community. A gift from the Pfau Foundation will support the LADD-Starfire Supported Employment Initiative.
In 2007, the Junior League of Cincinnati (JLC) launched MindPeace as its own non-profit because no other mental health organization focused on systemic improvements to children's mental health access and quality. As a result of the unique role of MindPeace in the community, the collaborative network of mental health providers and other stakeholders advocated for the continuation of MindPeace when the Junior League sponsorship expired. St. Rita School for the Deaf, the nation's first high school for the Deaf, was built on 237 acres of fertile land in 1915. Today St. Rita School for the Deaf is one of the only schools in the country of its kind - a private Catholic school with both day and residential programs for children six weeks through 21 years of age who need special methods of communication.
